It looks like the weather this weekend will be the picture of springtime in Central Virginia. It will be warm and sunny. We couldn’t ask for a better luck for St. Patrick’s Day.
Don’t get stuck inside all weekend, instead try out some of these cool things going on around the area.
For the kids: On Saturday, find out what is on the other side of the rainbow with Play On! lunch with the cast of The Wizard of Oz. You will get lunch with the cast, a special souvenir program, your child’s photo with favorite cast members, and drawings for actual props from the show!
For the family: Saturday and Sunday bring a Baked Potato Festival at First Colony Winery. It includes a fully stocked baked potato bar and the ticket includes wine tasting for the grown-ups.
For the grown-ups: Swing by Starr Hill Brewery in Crozet and pick up all your ale and lager needs for this fine spring weekend. Please, don’t dye it green. That is just weird.
Finally, Jesús Morales Sánchez, a world-renowned garrochista, is performing at Toad Hollow Farm on Saturday at noon. There is a suggested donation of $10. The garrocha pole is used in Spain by the vaqueros to move cattle around rather than roping. That pole also used to separate the bulls from the cows on farms and ranches but has now become a form of fancy Spanish dressage! Here is Jesús in action.
