There are a lot of Independence Day celebrations happening all weekend and (of course) on July 4th. We included a couple of options for July 4th as well, even though it is on Wednesday. We wouldn’t want you to miss out on cool fireworks.
An Independence Day parade, festival and fireworks in Crozet are scheduled for Saturday, June 30. The parade is at 4PM (line up early for best viewing), the festival goes on until the fireworks which are scheduled for 9:30pm and it is sure to be tons of fun!
In Free Union, there will be an Independence Day Parade on Sunday, July 1st. Arrive around 3:30 for best viewing. After the parade, you can make your way to the Glass House Winery for some wine and chocolate. If you want to have wine, chocolate AND music, you can stop by on Friday evening as well – Kat and the Travelers will be playing from 6 – 9.
Wintergreen Resort is hosting an Adventure Challenge that is not for the faint at heart. There are 20 obstacles that cover 7 miles, extreme elevation changes, and loads of fun. You can sign up to participate or cheer on those crazy enough to try it. After you complete your challenge, definitely sign up for a massage – you will need it.
Fourth of July Fireworks viewing in and around Charlottesville:
- Scottsville: Parade, festival and fireworks
- Charlottesville Family Fourth: McIntire park staple complete with local bands, lots of food and fireworks 1 minute past dark.
Happy weekend!
